It is one thing to be passionate; it is quite another to put that passion to work. HMG clinic employees took what they wear to work and turned it into something more. On Wednesday, October 22, employees paid $5.00 to participate in the Susan G. Komen Passionately Pink for the Cure breast cancer awareness day.
From simple pink shirts and sweaters, scrubs, jackets, ties and socks to cool jewelry, sunglasses, hats and boas, employees pulled together to make this day a big event. Several clinics embraced the day by decorating their clinic with a "pink" theme.
OB-GYN Associates sailed the high seas as pink pirates looking for the real treasure: a cure. McClurkan clinic drove to a baseball field to take their "team" picture as they encouraged everyone to "save 2nd base". And if you think your eyes are playing tricks on you, don't worry. That is a pink pony and a cow that you see at Clopton Clinic. Their employees worked hard to "round up awareness" on this day (Of course, the pink pony hair color washed right out. We wouldn't harm an employee's pet.) So from special t-shirts designed for the day to elaborate themes carried out, we all had fun supporting a great cause. The money turned into the Susan G. Komen Foundation will be used to fund breast cancer research and increase awareness. The total amount raised was just under $1,000!
