HMG welcomes AHEC Residents!

Physician members of Healthcare Medical Group (HMG) joined with St. Bernards Healthcare leadership Monday, June 29th to welcome the new Area Health Education Center (AHEC) residents. Held at the Brickhouse Grill, guests were entertained by musician Dave Pelletier as they enjoyed drinks and appetizers. 

A presentation highlighting HMG, its purpose and activities, member physicians and clinics was delivered by Dr. Willie Young, president of the organization.  HMG laptop bags filled with St. Bernards and HMG gifts were given to each resident.

Beth Greer, St. Bernards physician recruiter introduced the new residents as well as 2nd year, 3rd year and graduating resident physicians.  First year physician residents include Melissa Albers, MD from Alma, AR; Brian Baltz, MD from Pocahontas, AR; David Bennett, MD from Joiner, AR; Chris Brown, MD from West Memphis, AR; Amanda Deel, DO from Fordyce, AR; and Mickey Deel, DO from Haysi, Virginia.  AHEC Northeast is housed on the campus of St. Bernards Medical Center in the Ben E. Owens Diagnostic Treatment wing and the Annex wing.  The primary teaching facility accommodates 20 residents, teaching professionals, healthcare and clerical staff in the roles of teaching, patient care and system support management respectively.  To learn more about the AHEC Northeast program, please click on the following link.  http://www.uams.edu/ahecnortheast/

Following the presentations, the remainder of the evening was spent visiting and playing the game "Rock Band".   HMG is a proud supporter of the AHEC Northeast program and welcomes these new residents to our community!
